Professional Protection
Licensed Security Guards in Melbourne, 24/7
Metro Guards provides licensed security officers that businesses, properties, and institutions rely on across Melbourne. Every officer we deploy holds a current Victoria Police security licence and operates under our command centre in Caroline Springs, with GPS-verified check-ins and real-time incident reporting on every shift. We hold ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and CM3 certifications and are a proud ASIAL member, with over 17 years of uninterrupted service across the CBD and suburbs.
Why Melbourne Businesses Need Licensed Security Officers
A security guard in Melbourne offers access control, incident response, loss prevention, and a deterrent that works before something goes wrong.
The right guard, on the right post, with the right training, changes outcomes: fewer break-ins, faster incident response, less shrinkage, and a safer environment for staff, customers, students, and patients.
We built our reputation on one idea: every client deserves a guard who genuinely cares about the site they are protecting, not just someone filling a shift.
We cover:
- Access control and visitor management for buildings
- Static guard posts for retail, construction, healthcare and education
- Loss prevention and shrinkage reduction
- Concierge and front-of-house security
- Gatehouse and entry/exit control for industrial sites
- Lock-up and open-up of premises with documented checks
- Crowd control and event security staffing
- K9 detection and deterrence for high-risk sites
- Uniformed deterrence or covert observation, depending on the brief
Execution
How We Deploy and Supervise Every Guard
Digital Deployment Verification
Every guard checks in via GPS and NFC checkpoint technology. You always have confirmation of who is on site and when.
Real-Time Incident Reporting
Incidents are logged the moment they happen and escalated to our 24/7 command centre, with a report sent to you after every event.
Direct Employment
Every guard who shows up at your site is our guard; screened, trained and directly employed. We do not outsource your security to third parties.
Certified Systems
All Metro Guards operations comply with ASIAL standards, hold ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification, and meet CM3 contractor compliance requirements.

We also provide security services across:
Corporate offices and business parks
Schools, TAFEs, and universities
Industrial warehouses and logistics hubs
Residential and gated estates
Licensed venues and hospitality sites
Events, festivals, and public gatherings
Small and independent businesses across Melbourne
Static Guard, Mobile Patrol, or Both?
Many Melbourne businesses combine both: a static guard for the highest-risk point of a site, backed by patrol checks across the rest of the property after hours.
Static Guard
A static guard is stationed at a single, fixed post such as a building entrance, a construction gate, or a retail floor. They provide a constant, visible presence at one location.
Mobile Patrol Officer
A mobile patrol officer moves between multiple sites in a vehicle, conducting timed or randomised checks across a wider area.
17+ Years Experience
Our Security Guard Deployment Process
Our officers follow a structured process on every engagement, from first contact to ongoing supervision.
Site and Risk Assessment
We visit the site or hold a detailed consultation to understand what you are protecting, the typical risks, and what success looks like for you.
Guard Matching
We match a guard with relevant experience and demeanour to your post. A hospital post needs a different person than a warehouse gate.
Briefing and Equipping
Every guard receives a post-specific brief covering access points, emergency contacts, escalation procedures, and site protocols before their first shift.
Supervision and Reporting
Our command centre operates 24/7. Supervisors conduct scheduled and unannounced site visits, and you receive shift reports.
Law Enforcement Liaison
Where an incident requires it, our officers liaise directly with Victoria Police and provide a full situational briefing to support the response.
What Does It Cost to Hire Security Services in Melbourne?

Security guard pricing in Melbourne typically ranges from $38 to $75 per hour, depending on shift type, risk level, qualifications required, and whether the role is standard or specialised, such as concierge or loss prevention.
